Explain and Design the Model of Formation of the Banking Services Market Based on Financial Technology (Fintech) in Iran Based on Grounded Theory

Abstract

Objective: To explain and design the model for the formation of the banking services market based on financial technology (FinTech) in Iran. Method: In terms of exploratory level, in terms of applied purpose and from a methodological point of view in the category of qualitative research is based on the data approach. Data is collected by semi-structured interviews from a 24-sample sample of industry and university experts. Results: 9 pivotal codes of 38 main categories and 430 primary codes, in the form of a paradigm model including, causal conditions (economic factors in 2012, innovation in the economy and change in customer behaviour), main category (institutional pitfall), intervening factors (FinTech challenges), underlying factors (development of digital technology), strategies (development of FinTech ecosystem) and consequences (future banking model and transformation in the financial services industry) emerged. Conclusion: The findings led to the discovery and explanation of the model for the formation of the banking services market based on financial technology (FinTech) in Iran.
